Meet Ayla
Hi, I’m Ayla.
A passionate health food expert, certified personal trainer, nutrition & eating psychology coach and eco-activist.
I truly believe that food is our most powerful medicine and ally for health, healing and disease prevention, and that by having a deeper understanding of how our food is grown and where it comes from we have the capacity to improve the livelihood of all beings on Planet Earth.
Working as a personal trainer for 10+ years, my own health journey and through completing different healing and mindset modalities I have set the foundation and passion for helping others who want to enjoy the freedom and joy which is gained though living in a healthy and dis-ease free body.
Although I reap the health and vitality this way of life brings me now, it wasn’t always this way…

BACKGROUND
MY HEALTH JOURNEY
My own health journey began in my late teens. Naturally drawn to the field of fitness and nutrition after high school I went on to study Exercise Science and Nutrition (BSc), however after completing my first year I decided I wanted to dive straight in and became a Personal Trainer (PT)
By my early 20s however I got too caught up in the image focused industry and spiralled into a dangerous pattern of disordered eating. A severe cycle of Binge Eating Disorder (BED) & bulimia which left me with chronic digestive problems, rotten teeth and a host of mental health issues.
I stepped back from everything and took myself through recovery while completing my certification as an Eating Psychology Coach (EPC).
I shifted from my restrictive and rigid paleo diet (when i wasn’t bingeing) and hardcore CrossFit lifestyle and decided to go fully plant-based while focusing on a more holistic approach to fitness, incorporating more yoga and meditation to balance out my weight training.
This was all going pretty well until my early 30s when my next health challenge came knocking, and I began experiencing a whole bunch of food intolerances, allergies, sinus and gut issues.
So being the nutrition nerd that I am I began researching, while working alongside a naturopath.
Initially diagnosed as a histamine intolerance I dug deeper, and thats when I came upon a lesser known gut disorder called Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO).
The symptoms ticked all the boxes and much to my joy as I implemented the nutritional requirements and and protocols my symptoms began to ease.
I was able to introduce foods I had previously had intolerances to, my gut issues subsided, I felt more mentally alert, had more energy and drastically reduced my sinus problems.
As a health practitioner it’s easy for me to look back on all of this with dismay or shame, but the truth is these challenges equipped me with a surplus of knowledge and understanding towards many health concerns which plague our modern society, and the compassion and motivation to share it with others.
And I know not everyone gets the same thrill from reading nutrition textbooks or spending years in a living workshop to overcome diseases. Which is why I started this blog, and to offer my services as a coach.
To make the lessons I learnt accessible to all, and to be in service as a guide for those who wish to experience greater health, happiness & wellbeing.
